It appears a woman might be breaking rocks in prison just for stealing one.
The Toronto police are seeking a woman who’s “55-60 years of age, and standing approximately 5′ 4″” for taking a rock from a Yoko Ono exhibit at the city’s Gardiner Museum.
“Yoko Ono: The Riverbed” includes stones that were worn smooth by water and collected over time by Ono with Yoko’s written messages on each. Visitors are instructed to “pick up a stone and hold it, concentrating on the word, and then placing the stone upon the pile of other stones in the centre of the room”.
The unidentified woman, who was caught on security cameras, took a rock inscribed “Love Yourself”. It is valued at $17,500.
