Powderfinger is the latest act to tell Cory Bernardi to stop using their music.
In a tweet the band posted, “Powderfinger do not support @AuConservatives or Sen @corybernardi ‘s Australia Day Countdown. Like fellow musicians @darrenhayes and @hilltophood, we do not endorse our inclusion in @corybernardi’s playlist and would like our music removed. We are not trying to censor @corybernardi and his party, we are merely participating in a healthy debate that befits and strengthens our democracy. PF”

Jimmy Barnes, Hilltop Hoods and Darren Hayes are three other acts who have told Bernardi to go fuck himself today. Spotify, the platform Bernardi is using for his stunt, has also distanced itself from the extremist South Australian politican.
Bernardi is using Australian acts without there permission to promote his anti-ABC agenda after the Australian youth network moved its Hottest 100 countdown out of 26 January out of respect to the first Australians.
