Powderfinger guitarist and producer Darren Middleton has joined the fold at Chris Cheney’s Red Door Sounds studio.
Red Door Sounds have added Darren Middleton to the stable of industry professionals, who will work with artists in a songwriting and producing capacity.
You’ll best know Middleton as a driving force behind Australia’s biggest rock band of the last two decades, the multi-platinum, multi-ARIA-Award-winning Powderfinger.
He’s also released albums with side-project Drag and is a well regarded as a producer and songwriter, having worked with Renee Cassar, Jac Stone, and UK act Wall St Riots, and has provided soundtrack music for films Two Hands and Eric Bana’s Love The Beast.
Now that he’s relocated to Melbourne, Middleton will be a valuable asset both to the studio and the artists that come to record.
Red Door Sounds is a recently re-launched studio in a converted church in inner city Melbourne, owned by Woody Annison, The Living End’s Chris Cheney, wife Emma Cheney and Cricial Music’s ‘Rae Harvey.
Less than a year after taking the studio over, they’ve already hosted The Living End, Dropkick Murphys, Die Antwoord, Children Collide, Operator Please, Lanie Lane, Hunting Grounds and Young Revelry.
