A reporter for The Atlantic had the opportunity to talk to the President, and he asked Obama to pick between the two Watch The Throne rap moguls.

Obama reportedly smiled and picked Jay. He did follow it up by saying, “Although I like Kanye. He’s a Chicago guy. Smart. He’s very talented.”

The reporter followed up, “Even though you called him a jackass?” referring to the President’s earlier comments after West took the microphone from Taylor Swift at the VMA Awards in 2009.

“He is a jackass,” Obama replied, “But he’s talented.” There we go. Kanye West: Still a jackass.
