Prime Minister Julia Gillard To Induct Kylie Minogue At ARIA Awards

The Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard will induct Kylie Minogue into the ARIA Hall of Fame this Sunday at the ARIA Awards in Sydney.

The Prime Minister Julia and the Prime Popster Kylie met earlier this year in Japan at the Australian Embassy fundraising dinner for the Japan tsunami disaster. The two bonded and became friends.

Julia Gillard is a big music fan and promoter of Australian music. She is also the patron of the Australian Jazz Awards.

ARIA also announced today actor David Wenham will induct The Wiggles into the ARIA Hall of Fame and Steve Nicks will present.

Chrissie Amphlett from Divinyls will also present on Sunday night.

The 2011 ARIA Awards will be held this Sunday at Allphones Arena, Sydney Olympic Park and broadcast on Go at 7.30pm.
