A cassette by Prince has set a new record as the most expensive cassette sold on Discogs.
‘The Versace Experience – Prelude 2 Gold’ sold in August for $US4087 ($AUD5396), a record for a single cassette.
The cassette was a promo edition released as Prince was preparing to release ‘The Gold Experience’. Prince compiled a limited run of odds and end onto the cassette and gave them away during Paris Fashion Week for the fine folk viewing the Versace collection.
‘The Versace Experience – Prelude 2 Gold’ is one of the rarest Prince items.
