Prince has opened his Welcome2Australia tour with full coverage of his career dating back 1981’s ‘Controversy’ album.
Every show Prince does is completely different so don’t even expect this is how the show will look when he arrives in Melbourne on Monday, let alone the remainder of his Sydney shows.
As a prolific songwriter in the early part of his career Prince gave songs to Sinead O’Connor, Martika and his own band Vanity 6. He reclaimed those songs at the Sydney show. He also took possession of the Michael Jackson classic ‘Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough’.
Yeah, he may have said he was not going to do the hits anymore last time he was here. Lucky for us all he lied.
