Psy is focused on creating the best music he can possibly make because he knows without the right song he will quickly become yesterday’s news.
The South Korean pop star broke records when his YouTube video for his single Gangnam Style reached over one billion views.
A Guinness World Record holder, Psy is in awe of his exponential international success.
He is not happy with potentially being a one-hit wonder.
“I don’t think I’ll be doing any collaborations until my new track is done, and it’s not done yet, but I’m thinking of doing it by myself, so I can prove I can do it one more time,” Psy told MTV News.
“And I’m working hard on it, because I’ve got to be good with the track and the video, and I’ve got to be able to perform it on the stage.”
Psy looks to his musical colleagues for inspiration.
“I really like [Rihanna’s] We Found Love, and these days I’ve been listening to Scream & Shout by will.i.am and Britney Spears,” he shared.
“And, of course, all year, I have liked what Usher has done, too.”
Psy performed Gangnam Style in Times Square, New York, for the US TV show Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve while celebrating his 35th birthday.
