Emma Watkins, the yellow Wiggle and Lachy Gillespie, the purple Wiggle, have announced their engagement.
“We have some wonderful news for you all. There is a Wiggly Wedding on the horizon,” The Wiggles posted at their Facebook site.”Lachy proposed to Emma and she said YES! Lachy told us, “It was the happiest day of my life!”. Both Anthony and Simon are thrilled for Emma and Lachy as are the entire Wiggly team. Congratulations and best wishes to them both during this exciting time.”
Gillespie replaced original Wiggle Jeff Fatt and Watkins replaced Greg Page in 2012. Both had worked for The Wiggles for a number of years. Lachy was Captain Feathersword in the live show (as well as Wiggly Dancer and Wags The Dog. Emma as Fairy Larissa and also played Wags The Dog.
Jeff Fatt was a member of Sydney pop band The Cockroaches the 80s along with Anthony Field when they created The Wiggles with Page and Murray Cook.
Cook retired from the band in 2012 and now operates as Tour Manager of The Wiggles. Page has been developing children’s shows.
Emma and Lachy expect to marry in 2016.
