Jack Larson, who played Jimmy Olsen in The Adventures of Superman, has died at the age of 87.
Larson played the part of cub reporter and photographer Jimmy Olsen in the entire TV series from 1952-1958. The ongoing joke in the 50s TV show was with the father / son relationship between Perry White and Jimmy Olsen and the line ‘don’t call me chief”.
Larson also made cameo appearances in later Superman shows. He appeared in in season 4 of ‘Superboy’ as well as an episode of ‘Lois and Clark’ and he was also seen in movie ‘Superman Returns’ in 2006.
The last surviving cast members of The Adventures of Superman are the two Lois Lanes. The original Lois, played n Phyllis Coates is 88. Her replacement Noel Neill, is now 94.
