Australian broadcaster and journalist Mike Gibson has died at age 75.
‘Gibbo’ was a household name across Australia after years of sports commentary, even more so in Sydney where for years he was the top rated radio broadcaster with George Moore on the Gibson & Moore from on 2SM.
Gibson was sent up in good fun by The 12th Man Billy Birmingham on the second 12th Man record ‘Wired World of Sports’. Later he would present The Back Page on Fox Sports with Birmingham as his co-host.
Mike Gibson presented sports on National Nine News with Brian Henderson and was also a presenter for Nine’s Wide World of Sports on Channel 9.
Gibson died in the home on the Central Coast this morning.
