Monica Lewis, the voice of Chiquita Banana and a vocalist for Benny Goodman, has died at the age of 93.
Monica Lewis featured over a dozen movies including ‘The Strip’, ‘Affair With A Stranger’ and ‘Charley Varick’ as well as a string of disaster movies ‘Earthquake’, ‘Airport ‘75’ and ‘The Concorde – Airport ‘79’ as well as ‘Rollercoaster’.
Monica began her career at age 17 for a radio show ‘Gloom Dodgers’. She made her debut in the Ed Sullivan Show in 1948 and then signed to MGM but it is her Chiquita Banana ad that she is most famous for.
Monica Lewis died of natural causes at age 93 at her home in Woodland Hills.
