April Wine bass player Steve Lang has died in Canada at the age of 67.

Lang was the bass player for the Canadian rock band from 1976 to 1984, replacing original member Jim Clench and preceding Jean Pellerin.

Clench died in 2010.

April Wine formed in 1969 and released 20 albums. Lang first appeared in ‘The Whole World’s Goin’ Crazy’ (1976), then ‘Forever For Now’ (1977), ‘First Glance’ (1978), ‘Harder…Faster’ (1979), ‘The Nature of the Beast’ (1981), ‘Power Play’ (1982) and ‘Animal Grace’ (1984).

April Wine has been nominated for 11 Juno awards but to date has never won one. In 2010, they were inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.

Steve Lang is the father of Canadian musician Erin Lang. She has released two albums and is currently working on her third in Berlin.
