Singer R. Kelly has been pretty much downplaying the whole “sex cult” allegations that have been leveled at him over the last week; however, it does seem to be hitting his bottom line.
Kelly has cancelled four of his ten remaining 2017 dates in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Dallas and Los Angeles. According to sources, it is because of low ticket sales, citing that his recent Virginia Beach show saw the venue half empty; however, are ticket sales down (or are there ticket returns) because of the alleged scandal or are venues pulling out themselves.
The Los Angeles show remains on Kelly’s website but the cancellation was announced directly by the Microsoft Theater.
Kelly’s itinerary:
08/04 – Mount Pleasant, MI – Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort
08/05 – Detroit, MI – Chene Park
08/25 – Atlanta, GA – Wolf Creek Amphitheater
08/26 – Pelham, AL – Oak Mountain Amphithatre
08/27 – Memphis, TN – FedExForum
10/05 – Las Vegas, NV – The Joint at Hard Rock Las Vegas
10/06 – Los Angeles, CA – Microsoft Theater at LA Live (cancelled)
