Radiohead lead guitarist and keyboard player Jonny Greenwood has been nominated for an Academy Award for his work on ‘Phantom Thread’.
Paul Thomas Anderson’s ‘Phantom Thread’ stars Sir Daniel Day-Lewis. It is his last ever movie. Sir Daniel announced his retirement after completing the movie.
‘Phantom Thread’ is a drama about a dysfunctional love affair set in London’s couture world of the 1950s.
The film is Anderson’s fourth movie working with Jonny Greenwood.
Jonny Greenwood is a founding member of Radiohead, forming the band with Thom Yorke, his brother Colin Greenwood, Ed O’Brien and Phil Selway.
Jonny Greenwood recorded his first soundtrack for ‘Bodysong’ in 2003. His previous works with Anderson are ‘Inherent Vice’ (2014), ‘The Master’ (2012) and ‘There Will Be Blood’ (2007).
Greenwood has also scored two movies for Lynne Ramsey including ‘You Were Never Really There’ starring Joaquin Phoenix, also in 2017.
