Country superstar Randy Travis is in a Texas hospital in a serious condition with viral heart infection.
Myocarditis, or viral heart infection, attacks the muscles of the heart and can cause a heart to stop.
Travis was admitted to a Dallas hospital on Sunday. His publicist has confirmed his condition is listed as serious but no other details we released.
Randy Travis is one of America’s biggest country stars with 20 studio albums to his name. He is best known for his country hit ‘Three Wooden Crosses’. He is a six-time Grammy Award winner. He also has a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.
Travis is also an actor having appeared with Matt Damon in ‘Black Dog’ and Patrick Swayze in ‘Texas Rangers’ as well as in one episode of ‘Touched By An Angel’.
Travis tour dates for Deadwood, South Dakota and Canada later this week have been postponed.
