Much talked-about Melbourne indie pop experimenters Rat Vs Possum preview their forthcoming album with a free single.
The quartet have been making big waves of late, hitting up festivals like Meredith, Laneway, Sugar Mountain and even NZ’s exclusive Camp A Low Hum, as well as sold out shows around Australia and tours with Sleigh Bells, Regurgitator and US act Aa.
The excitement and goodwill is sure to manifest itself on their second album, titled Let Music & Bodies Unite, recorded with renowned Japanese engineer Nao Anzai at Headgap Studios in June and July this year.
The eight-track album will be released in September this year in digital and vinyl formats on Sensory Projects.
They promise a step away from the group vocals and floor toms for a new sound inspired by “‘90’s dance music, post-rock, disco, electronica and unashamed pop music”.
Curious folk can sample the first single ‘Fat Monk’ on their Bandcamp page here and look out for their shows with Bachelorette at the Melbourne Festival.
And below is a very sweaty, fleshy Not Safe For Work album teaser video.
