Red Hot Summer Tour Is A Big Win For Australian Music

The Red Hot Summer tour, the labour of love for promoter Duane McDonald, has become the proof that Australian’s really do want to hear Australian music.

Jimmy Barnes will headline the Red Hot Summer Tour for 2016 with Noiseworks, The Angels, Mark Seymour & The Undertow and The Badloves.

McDonald started Red Hot Summer as an annual five years ago. The Red Hot Summer tour for 2016 will kick off in Batemans Bay on January 2.

The first 13 shows went on sale one week ago and already seven in Launceston, Mornington, Mount Gambier, Mannum, Dubbo, Kiama, Port Macquarie are close to sell outs.

“Australian music is the very soundtrack of our society.” Duane McDonald tells Noise11.com. “Songs like ‘Khe Sanh’, ‘Throw Your Arms Around Me’ and ‘Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again’ are anthems across the country. They mean more to someone in Dubbo or Port Macquarie than ‘Satisfaction’ or ‘I Was Made For Loving You’”.

The Red Hot Summer tour puts Australia’s biggest names into not only major regional centres but also remote areas rarely treated to Australia’s finest rock. “With the Red Hot Summer tour, we are taking our heritage to regional areas and giving Australian’s outside the major cities first-class quality for a value priced ticket”, Duane said.
