The controversial Redfern Now has been nominated for three APRA Screen Music Awards.
The ABC mini-series is into its second season and became high profile last week after a homophobic rant from boxer Anthony Mundine.
Custard frontman David McCormack and composer Antony Partos created the music for ‘Redfern Now. Their work has been nominated for ‘Best Television Theme’, ‘Best Music for a Television Series or Serial’ and for the song ‘Lonely Child’ from the show.
The nominees for Feature Film Score go to the movies ‘Dead Europe’ by Jed Kurzel, ‘Samsara’ for Lisa Gerrard, Marcello De Francisi and Michael Stearns, ‘The 25th Reich’ by Ricky Edwards and ‘The Rocket’ by Caitlin Yeo.
The 2013 Screen Music Awards will be announced in Sydney on Monday, December 9.
