The art works of Reg Mombassa and Peter O’Doherty from Dog Trumpet will be on display in Austin, Texas during the SXSW music conference in March.
Dog Trumpet have already been announced as showcase artists. Now delegates of the music event will also be able to view the paintings of the former Mental As Anything members who are also considered two of Australia’s greatest contemporary artists.
Dog Trumpet will head to Austin in March to showcase the new album ‘Medicated Spirits’. They will perform at Yard Dog, Austin on March 13 at 7pm for the official North American launch of the album.
The Pete and Reg exhibition will be on display at Yard Dog for one month.
Brothers Pete O’Doherty and Reg Mombassa (Chris O’Doherty) formed Dog Trumpet in 1991, initially as a side-project to their “real job” Mental As Anything. After leaving the Mentals, Dog Trumpet became the full-time gig for Pete and Reg.
‘Medicated Spirits’ is the sixth studio album for Dog Trumpet.
SXSW Music will be held in Austin, Texas from March 10-16, 2014.
