Despite scores of hits and tens of millions of albums sold, four members of reggae megastars UB40 declare bankruptcy.

The Daily Mail report that four leading members of the band have declared themselves insolvent.

Figurehead frontman Ali Campbell and keyboardist Mickey Virtue left the band in 2008 over financial disputes.

Their decision has been proven right, as saxophonist Brian Travers, drummer Jimmy Brown, trumpeter Terence Oswald (AKA Astro), and percussionist Norman Hassan have been ruled bankrupt in Birmingham County Court.

Their current costs (reportedly in the realm of £57,000) are to be paid by acquiring their property.

Sadly, this comes during the week they played a 33-year anniversary show to fans in the pub where they first played – the Hare And Hounds in Birmingham.
