Regurgitator bassist Ben Ely and his new bandmate in Ouch My Face, Celeste Potter, put on an art exhibition.
Ely has joined noisy Melbourne art-punks Ouch My Face, and he and frontwoman Celeste Potter will be exhibiting their artworks upstairs at Fitzroy’s Old Bar from Saturday March 31 until Friday April 13.
Potter is a commercial illustrator, and her part of the exhibition showcases her penchant for drawing scary monsters.
She says in a press release: “Drawing gigantic violent things is an excellent way to express your feelings without hurting anyone. Normally I draw monsters with whatever pens or pencils are around, on scrap paper. For this exhibition I’ve made them on watercolour paper and canvas with ink, watercolours, pencils and my own blood.”
There will be a launch for the exhibition on the Saturday, featuring Ouch My Face, Dead, Deep Heat, and Batpiss.
