Australian singing legend Renee Geyer will release her 25th album next Friday, April 19.
‘Swing’ is a first for Renee. The album is her Big Band interpretation of evergreen classics as well as Calypso remakes of two of her own hits. ‘Say I Love You’ and ‘It’s a Mans Man World’. The latter, a cover of the James Brown classic, was her very first hit song nearly 40 years ago.
‘Swing’ is also Renee’s first album for Robert Rigby’s Fanfare Records label. Fanfare also released Russell Morris’ Top 10 ARIA album ‘Sharkmouth’.
“Tthe album is a collection of wonderful songs delivered by Renee in a tour de force,” says Rigby. “On this record she had a great deal especially with her great friend Paul Kelly on a classic Mel Torme song ‘Comin’ Home Baby’.”
The album features arrangements by Paul Williamson and Dave Palmer.
