The Human League, Kim Wilde, Kool and the Gang need not come to Australia. The disastrous Rewind 80s Festival for Australia has finally been cancelled.
Rewind 80s went on the nose a week ago when the promoter pulled the event out of Wollongong and put it in Sydney without offering ticket refunds.
The change of venue from a 15,000 capacity to 5500 capacity said more about lack of ticket sales than the excuse used “potential bad weather’.
The bad weather excuse was also a stretch for punters to swallow. It would seem Rewind 80s was the world’s first music event cancelled for bad weather two and a half weeks before it was even on.
A posting at rewindfestival.com.au simply states “Rewind cancelled please contact your ticket agent for a refund”.
