Queensland’s newest music festival Rhythm of the Bay Festival has locked in a feast of Australian music with Pete Murray, Josh Pyke, Busby Marou and Ash Grunwald heading up an all-day Aussie line-up along with Natalie Rize of blue king brown{unplugged}, Nicky Bomba Trio and CC The Cat.
Shane Seccombe of Offbeat Operations put Rhythm of the Bay together piece by piece. “We wanted to come up with an event that can show the strength of our countries talented singer/songwriters and hear their amazing voices that sometimes gets lost in a big band line up,” Shane said.
Harrigans Drift Inn in Jacobs Well near Brisbane was picked as the location for the first event. Over the years Harrisons Drift Inn has played host to the Red Hot Summer tour, Jimmy Barnes, INXS and James Morrison. “I have been talking about this for a long time with Gerry Murphy from Harrigans Drift Inn and Gerry was into the vibe from the beginning and he has always supported live music. We are both delighted to be able to bring this festival to QLD,” he said.
Despite the quality line-up, Shane has kept the ticket price to $73.35.
