Les Paul would have been 99 this week and his incredible career and legacy live on with those that admire his musical talents and inventions.
One of those admirers, Richie Sambora, will be saluting Paul in two shows at Les’ former club home, The Iridium in New York City. On July 22 and 23, Sambora will put on three shows of authentic rock ‘n’ roll, celebrating the electric guitar sounds and versatility made possible by Paul’s inventive mind.
The July 23 performances will be taped for PBS’ Front and Center series. Tickets for those shows will go on sale on June 13. The previous night’s show goes on sale June 12. Special fan club tickets will be available prior to the general on-sale dates.
Along with a very successful recording career, Les Paul was instrumental in the development of the solid body electric guitar and multitrack recording.
