Rick Astley was forced to cancel his final Australian show in Melbourne last night after being struck down with food poisoning.
The UK pop star was scheduled to play his final night at Melbourne’s Chelsea Heights Hotel when he became ill just before the show. 30 minutes after stage time, the show was cancelled.
Rick’s publicist George Hatzigeorgiou tells Noise11.com that, “he is devastated that he had to miss the show. Such a shame, his show Friday night was absolutely stellar”.
Rick started his Australian tour with his 5-piece band in Tweed Heads on November 16 and performed up and down the east coast of Australia.
Promoter Lennard Promotions will not be able to reschedule the The Chelsea Heights show. Fans can be refunded from where they purchased their tickets.
