An Affair of the Heart, the award-winning feature documentary on Rick Springfield, will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray on July 16 via Breaking Glass Pictures.
The film examines the relationship between Springfield and his die-hard fans first opened last October in New York and had a limited theatrical release followed by a broadcast debut in May on EPIX.
The documentary has been recognized for Outstanding Direction, Editing, Music (twice) and named “Best of Hot Docs”, the largest documentary festival in North America. When asked about the documentary Rick Springfield said, “As a person, I am kind of peripheral. This documentary focuses on the fans. It’s about their connection, what they view and how they interpreted who I was, and the right times that music that they liked came along to help them to get through difficult stuff. I get the stories. I am very proud to be part of it.”
The DVD includes an hour of bonus features while the Blu-Ray contains two hours.
