Just days after Paul McCartney and Nirvana teamed up we learn that Rick Springfield will soon be heard out front of Foo Fighters.
Dave Grohl has put together an incredible line-up of collaborations for his ‘Sound City’ soundtrack with Rick Springfield with Foo Fighters Grohl, Nate Mendel, Pat Smear and Taylor Hawkins on the track ‘The Man That Never Was’.
Dave Grohl and the surviving members of Nirvana debuted ‘Cut Me Some Slack’ with Paul McCartney during the week at the 12-12-12 concert.
Sound City also features Grohl with Rage Against The Machine members Brad Wilk and Tim Commerford, Grohl with Slipknot’s Cory Taylor and Cheap Trick’s Rick Neilsen, Dave Grohl and Stevie Nicks and Grohl with Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age and Trent Reznor from Nine Inch Nails.
‘Sound City – Reel To Reel’ is Dave Grohl’s documentary about the Sound City studio. All of his famous guests on the soundtrack have recorded at the studio.
Grohl’s ‘Sound City’ movie will premiere at Sundance Film Festival in January and the soundtrack will be released February 1.
