Back before he was Dr. Noah Drake on General Hospital, Rick Springfield had a fledgling music career that included the number 14 hit Speak to the Sky (1971).
It was that role on GH, though, that really threw him into huge music stardom with hits like Jessie’s Girl and Don’t Talk to Strangers.
Springfield will return to his old stomping grounds in Port Charles, according to People Magazine, for a series of shows in April and he won’t be going in alone. Along for the ride will be real-life son Liam Springthorpe in the role of an undercover police officer.
Rick originally joined General Hospital in 1981 and credits it for the success of his comeback hit, Jessie’s Girl along with crediting the song with a surge in popularity for the soap. He stayed with the show until 1983 when he went back to music full time. He returned to GH in December of 2005 and has made a number of appearances since that time.
