Ringo Starr will release his 17th solo album ‘Ringo 2012’ in January.
Ringo once again has worked with an all-starr cast including brother-in-law Joe Walsh who co-wrote ‘Slow Down’ with Ringo.
Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Benmont Tench from Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Don Was, Edgar Winter and Dave Stewart also feature on the album.
The album features two new versions of old Ringo songs ‘Step Lightly’ (originally from Ringo, 1973) and ‘Wings’ (Ringo The 4th, 1977).
He also covers Buddy Holly’s ‘Think It Over’ and Johnny Cash’s ‘Rock island Line’.
The album was recorded in Los Angeles and mixed in England by Ringo and Bruce Sugar.
‘Ringo 2012’ will be released through Universal Music in Australia on January 25, 2012.
August 16, 2012 will also be the 50th anniversary of Ringo joining The Beatles.
