Roadrunner Records will celebrate thirty years of blistering metal with a 4CD box set cover the hard rock history of the label.
The 4CD set ‘XXX: Three Decades Of Roadrunner Records’ will feature 54 tracks from bands like Machine Head, Soulfly, Fear Factory, Killswitch Engage, Devildriver and Australia’s own Airbourne.
The four discs will each focus on a different era of Roadrunner. The first disc, Foundations, highlights the label’s early, reputation-building years. The second disc, Horns Up, sums up Roadrunner’s indelible impact on the metal scene of the 1990s. The third disc, And Metal For All, brings the listener into the 2000s and up to the present with the final disc, Rock For The Ages, focused on Roadrunner’s hard rock contingent.
Cees Wessels founded Roadrunner Records in The Netherlands in 1980. The label started as a hard rock label but later broadened to include acts like Nickelback, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Rush and The Dresden Dolls.
Warner Music will release ‘XXX: Three Decades of Roadrunner Records’ on September 27.
