Australia’s Decca Records boss Robert Rigby has signed The Voice finalist and former busker Joe Moore to the label.
Moore reached the grand finale of The Voice this year and for many should have been the winner but it wasn’t to be. Rigby, a big believer in Joe’s talent, brought him into Decca to make his debut album.
Joe performed his original song ‘Invincible’ on the grand finale of The Voice. He co-wrote the song with Ben Hastings and Michael Fatkin (Morgan Evans, Tina Arena) and mixed by LA based engineer Nick Rad (Birdy, Hillary Duff). “The most important part of lyric writing is creating the message, and the message of Invincible is that it’s a break-up song. The melody is uplifting and anthemic, but at the core, there’s a lot of heartache in there,” Moore said.
Robert Rigby was also behind the signing of Greta Bradman to Decca Classics for a worldwide deal. The album was a recent number on Australia’s classical chart and looks set to be the biggest selling classical album of 2015 in Australia.
