Guitar Hero-style game, Rocksmith, actually teaches you how to play guitar and will launch in Australia next month.
So much for your musician buddies ragging on video games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band as a waste of time. You can now actual learn how to play guitar with a game, instead of learning how to get really good at pressing buttons.
Rocksmith doesn’t need a plastic approximation of a guitar, because it come with a Real Tone Cord that translates your analogue guitar playing into digital notes and incorporates it into the game.
So, you need a guitar. If you don’t have one, Rocksmith has teamed up with Epiphone so that you can get a bundle with the game and an Epiphone Les Paul Junior.
The game contains 50 tunes including Blur’s ‘Song 2’, Lynyrd Skynyrd’s ‘Sweet Home Alabama’, Radiohead’s ‘High And Dry’, The Rolling Stones’ ‘(Can’t Get No) Satisfaction’ and more.
It’ll be released on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 on September 27 and for Windows PC gamers on October 18.
