Roger Waters’ name is regularly in the news for his various projects so it’s hard to believe that he hasn’t released a new solo album in a quarter-century, but it’s the truth. Waters’ last studio set was 1992’s Amused to Death.
On June 2, Waters will bring that twenty-five-year drought to an end with Is This the Life We Really Want? via Columbia Records.
Described as “an unflinching commentary on the modern world and uncertain times”, the album was produced by Nigel Godrich, who has also worked with artists like Radiohead, Paul McCartney, Beck and U2.
Playing with Waters on the album are Nigel Godrich (arrangement, sound collages, keyboards, guitar), Gus Seyffert (bass, guitar, keyboards), Jonathan Wilson (guitar, keyboards), Joey Waronker (drums), Roger Manning (keyboards), Lee Pardini (keyboards), and Lucius (vocals) with Jessica Wolfe and Holly Proctor.
