Wood was a surprise guest at the McCartney gig where he performed The Beatles classic ‘Get Back’ with Sir Paul.

Ronnie was in Sydney last week visiting his daughter Leah and two-year old granddaughter Maggie.

Meanwhile in the audience, Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour had tickets to the show.

For Paul, this was the homecoming gig. “It’s so nice to be home, we’ve been travelling round the world. It’s such a nice little scene here, I’m just going to take a second to drink it in myself,” he told the crowd.

He dedicated the ‘Band On The Run’ track ‘Let Me Roll It’ to his family who were also in the audience.

McCartney is currently on his ‘On The Run’ tour.

Paul McCartney’s 1984 movie ‘Give My Regards To Broad Street’ was universally panned in its day. The production, 100% funded by Paul, became a money pit. It lost him millions, had hideous reviews and now both the movie and soundtrack album have been long out of print. But was it that bad? Actually no. I thought it was much better than The Beatles ‘Magical Mystery Tour’.

Paul McCartney Plays Santiago, Karen Freedman Reviews of Noise11.com

Eighty two. Paul McCartney is 82. (Well, I guess it makes a change to referring to the good Sir as an ex-Beatle). Now, where was I? Oh yes, in Santiago, Chile, at the Estadio Monumental, watching this magnificent human perform to and thrill thousands of people. It is always heartwarming to see multi generations singing along to all the songs at a Paul McCartney show. More impressively here, because most people speak only Spanish.
