Two of Australia’s most experienced and prolific music photographers, Mary Boukouvalas and Ros O’Gorman, will present their follow up photo exhibition PIT (Photos In Tempo) to coincide with Melbourne Music Week in November.
PIT offers music fans a rare front-row view of artists as they encapsulate the opening of the performance.
For more than 15 years, Mary and Ros have been capturing some of the greatest concerts by the biggest names in music including AC/DC, The Rolling Stones, Pink, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters and Neil Young.
Mary Boukouvalas began capturing live performance in the mid 90s. Patti Smith, The Cure, The Cult and Iggy Pop have stared down her lens. Her works have been published in Rolling Stone, Triple J magazine, The Age, The Herald Sun and Beat Magazine.
Ros O’Gorman has travelled the world visually documenting artists such as Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, Metallica, Van Morrison and Lou Reed. As Head of Photography for The Noise Network her work is featured in Noise11.com and has been published in The Age, Australian Musician, Herald Sun, Daily Telegraph and Rolling Stone.
PIT (Photos In Tempo) opens on Saturday 16 November for a two week run. The exhibition will be the first to be held in the new Noise11 Gallery Space in South Melbourne.
