Russell Morris’ award winning blues trilogy has been expanded and compiled for the box set ‘Ghosts & Legends’ due in November.
In 2013, Russell Morris set out on a mission to create a blues album of songs about Australia’s famous and infamous past.
The first album ‘Sharkmouth’ connected with Australian fans and gave Russell his biggest selling album in more than 40 years. It also gave him his first ARIA Award for Best Blues & Roots Album and became the biggest selling Australian album of original songs that year.
The second release ‘Van Diemen’s Land’ was another Top 10 record earning Morris an ARIA nomination for Best Blues & Roots Album.
‘Red Dirt Red Heart’, released in 2016, was another best seller and ARIA Award winner.
‘Ghosts & Legends’ will feature four additional songs recorded for ‘Van Diemen’s Land’, ‘Cobb & Co’, ‘Refugee Born’ and ‘Steel Ships’ as well as an acoustic version of the title track.
