Russell Morris Plays Nashville And Has Four Albums In Australian Chart

Russell Morris has performed a showcase gig in Nashville serving up a selection of his blues trilogy for the fine folk of Razor & Tie.

Russell Morris performed the previous week at Canadian Music Week and had a Nashville stop-over on the way for more shows in South America next week.

The shows are his first to introduce the revered blues album trilogy of ‘Sharkmouth’, ‘Van Diemen’s Land’ and ‘Red Dirt Red Heart’ into North America ahead of the release of part one, the ‘Sharkmouth’ album.

The self-funded ‘Sharkmouth’ was released independently by Russell and soon after licensed to Robert Rigby’s Ambition Entertainment. It went on to become the biggest selling Australian album of original material in 2013 with no major commercial radio support.

‘Sharkmouth’, ‘Van Diemen’s Land’ and ‘Red Dirt Red Heart’ are all current selling albums in Australia’s ARIA chart. Russell has four albums in the ARIA chart this week with ‘The Very Best of Russell Morris’, the compilation of his 60s and 70s pop hits, also ticking over decent sales each week.
