Russell Morris award winning blues albums ‘Sharkmouth’ and ‘Van Diemen’s Land’ will soon be available on vinyl.
‘Sharkmouth’ gave the legendary Australian singer/songwriter his first ever ARIA and 45 years after he started in the business gave Russell his biggest selling album ever.
Sharkmouth is a true Australian first, featuring songs about icons, characters and bygone eras from the 1920’s, 30’s, 40’s. (Les Darcy, Squizzy Taylor, Phar Lap, Thomas “Sharkmouth” Archer, Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Great Depression, Mr. Eternity who lived in Sydney in the 50’s & 60’s and many more.)
The album features special guests Renee Geyer, Troy Cassar-Daley, Mark “Diesel” Lizotte and Chris Wilson.

‘Van Diemen’s Land’ continued the moment and became Russell’s highest charting album of all-time, reaching no. 4 on the ARIA chart, an ARIA nomination for Best Blues and Root Album, an APRA nomination for Song of the Year and the Album of the Year award from the Leading Edge Retail chain.
Van Diemen’s Land picks up where Sharkmouth left off, this time covering great Australian characters and stories including Breaker Morant, Sandakan, the Eureka Stockade and many more. Morris is joined on Van Diemen’s Land by a host of special guest artists including Joe Camilleri, Rick Springfield, Rob Hirst (Midnight Oil), Scott Owen (The Living End), Ross Hannaford (Daddy Cool), Vika & Linda Bull, Phil Manning (Chain) and Joe Robinson.
“Van Diemen’s Land is an album that has been an amazing experience to make,” said Morris, “With the success of Sharkmouth, it really let me off my leash so to speak. It showed me that people want music that tells them a story and moves them.”
