‘Shape Shifter’ is an album of original instrumentals by Carlos Santana. Santana chose to go totally instrumental on this record because it “defies all cultural and language barriers’.

The album is dedicated to Australian Aborigines and Native Americans. “I encourage any and all countries (that have not as yet done so) to acknowledge the first people of their land, and make this a collective global effort,” Santana said in a statement.

As well as the Australian government’s 2008 apology to the Aborigines ‘Shape Shifter’ also acknowledges President Obama’s signing of the 2009 Native American Apology Resolution.

‘Shape Shifter’ will be the first album released on Carlos Santana’s new record label Starfaith Records.
