Santana IV With Neal Schon Almost Completed

According to Neal Schon, Santana IV, the long anticipated reunion album for the original members of Santana, will be finished by the end of the week.

He made the announcement on his Facebook page:

Wishing a Great Week to you All.
We are Wrapping up Santana IV this week!!! Sounds Amazing!!!

Word of the reuniting of the band originally came in February 2013 when Schon broke the news to Noise11 that he and Santana were going to work together. “I’ve reconnected with Carlos Santana now and we have been talking about doing something together again. We’ve talked a lot on the telephone and I hooked up with him before Christmas. You never know what’s going to happen. Life is full of surprises. It’s very exciting.”

Two days later, Carlos Santana told Noise11.com that he was putting the original band back together. “So far we have invited the original members like Greg Rolie from the first three albums. It will be like Santana IV because we stopped at ‘Santana III’. As well as Neal we have the two Mikes, Mike Carabello and Michael Shrieve. I am pretty sure Greg’s going to do it. So that is pretty much everyone.”

Bass player David Brown passed away in 2000.

Schon is also a long-time member of Journey so their may be some logistical problems in touring but, later in the comments on his original post, Schon expressed enthusiasm for some live Santana dates. “This record is going to take over the world. I just hope management gets it together for us to tour together as I WILL Tour with Carlos either way. It’s way too happening to not. World domination once again.”
