Country star Sara Storer has been named Ambassador of the Gympie Muster’s Buy A Bale charity.
The Buy A Bale charity assists farmer’s facing tough times. It is the recipient of the Farmer’s Aid Appeal, a concept integrated into the Gympie Muster since 1993. “The Gympie Music Muster is Australia’s preeminent country music and camping festival and a great event but it’s also a charitable festival that comes together to help the community,” Charles Adler, Buy A Bale campaign coordinator said. “We are so grateful for the support that the Muster gives Buy a Bale, both financially and in bringing awareness to the plight of farmers, and we will continue to support them in the great work they do.”
Sara Stprer grew up in the Mallee region of rural Victoria in the same hometown as John Williamson. She comes from a family of farmers. Sara and John collaborated on ‘Raining on the Plains’ in 2004 and her recent single ‘Come on Rain’.
Gympie is 90 minutes north of Brisbane.
The Gympie Muster is on from August 28 to 31, 2014 at the Amamoor Creek State Forest Park.
