We track the progress of the new album from baroque pop songbird Sarah Blasko, who is back in Australia for August acoustic dates.
Following three platinum albums in a row (as well as a gold-selling album with Sally Seltmann and Holly Throsby as Seeker Lover Keeper), Sarah Blasko returns to Australia after finishing her fourth album.
She has been living in Stockholm, Sweden, and is mastering the new opus (regularly referred to as “epic”), last week posting on her Facebook “This album is developing its own image..”
According to Twitter updates, she recorded a 52-piece string section for the album, as well as brass and woodwind in Bulgaria, writing “the songs sound epic and out of control. We’re very proud and a bit emotional..” The album also features harp, double bass, piano, and percussion, including “squeaky shoes”.
There’s no word yet on a title or release date, but she’s going to perform three acoustic dates in August: Lismore in New South Wales and Pomona and Cairns in Queensland. Check out ‘We Won’t Run’ from As Day Follows Night below.
