Saxon was forced to cancel their appearance last weekend at the Vagos Open Air in Fago, Portugal after vocalist Biff Byford was injured.
The band issued the following statement on Saturday:
SAXON HAS HAD TO CANCEL THEIR SHOW AT VAGOS OPEN AIR
Friday, 9 August 2013Due to an injury to frontman Biff Byford, Saxon will be unable to perform at the Vagos Open Air in Fago, Portugal on the 10th of August 2013.
At the present the severity of Biff’s injuries are unknown and doctors have advised him strongly not to perform.
Saxon is extremely sad at disappointing the fans in Portugal and hope they can come back soon.
Please wish Biff to get well !

There is still no word on the type of injury or extent, including any further statements on the band’s official site, Facebook page or Byford’s own page.
The band’s next scheduled date is September 12 at The Emporium in Patchogue, NY.
