International manager and producer Scott Dorsey and Australian producer and musician Geoff Wright have announced a new and organic music contest B.U.B. (Best Unsigned Bands) for real and raw musicians.
B.U.B. is looking for authentic artists, not the prefab cookie cut-outs cast from reality TV. “With major labels manufacturing artists and moulding them in a particular style that they consider to fit current radio formats we wanted to give real, raw musicians a platform to play on,” Scott Dorsey explains.
Dorsey has managed Engelbert Humperdinck and worked in the studio with Sir Elton John, Rob Thomas, Gene Simmons and Fergie.
Australian-based Geoff Wright, a legend of the recording world for his work with Sherbet, Tina Turner, John Farnham and Tina Arena is co-developing the B.U.B. platform with Dorsey from his Byron Bay Lucky Boy Analogue Recording Studios. “We are launching B.U.B. this week to discover the best indie act out there and we are offering a record deal, full production and management through our entertainment company Lucky Boy Productions,” Wright says.
Scott Dorsey and Rod StewartDorsey calls B.U.B. “the mother of all searches”. The search is now open and can be accessed from the Lucky Boy Analogue Studios Facebook page.
The rules are simple: One original song by a self contained band to be submitted via the Lucky Boy Analogue Studio Facebook page by October 15 2017
Five finalists will be announced on November 15, 2017. The live finals will be held in Byron Bay on December 15, 2017.
