Shenandoah Prepare For 30th Anniversary Dates For 2017

Country’s Shenandoah is about to go out on their 30th-anniversary tour.

The band was actually founded in 1984 but it was thirty years ago, in 1987, that they released their self-titled debut. The album had a slow build with each of its three singles building on the popularity of the one before until, with She Doesn’t Cry Anymore, the group finally hit the top ten.

It was their second album, The Road Not Taken, that truly thrust them to the top with three number 1 country hits, The Church on Cumberland Road, Sunday in the South and Two Dozen Roses. Overall, they’ve had fifteen top ten country hits, five of which went to the top of the charts.

Lead singer Marty Raybon said “After 29 years in the music business, we find ourselves more determined than ever before. The past helps us to realize where we’ve been and sets our vision to where we want to be. Our mission in 2017, with new music, is to expand our fanbase while continuing to enjoy the performances and making our 30th year the best ever.”

The first round of dates includes 14 shows with the promise of more being announced in January.
