Former Sherbet keyboard player and songwriter Garth Porter has been awarded the Officer of the Order of Australia award in the Australia Day Honours list.
Porter co-wrote many of Sherbet’s hits including ‘Cassandra’, ‘Slipstream’, ‘Summer Love’ and the classic ‘Howzat’.
After Sherbet, Porter concentrated on production, mainly with country acts. He has produced for James Blundell, Gina Jeffreys, Troy Cassar-Daly and launched the career of Lee Kernaghan.
