Sheryl Crow acknowledges her ex-fiance Lance Armstrong for his candour.
The 50-year-old American folk musician and the 41-year-old shamed bicyclist were in a romantic relationship for three years beginning in 2003 and were engaged to wed at one point.
After denying the accusations for years, shamed bicyclist Lance recently revealed in an interview with Oprah Winfrey that he did in fact use performance-enhancing drugs to secure titles.
Sheryl, who caught ‘bits and pieces’ of Lance and Oprah’s discussion, respects that her former lover finally came clean.
“I think that honesty is always the best bet and that the truth will set you free,” she told ET Online.
“To carry around a weight like that would be devastating in the long run.”
Lance used EPO (erythropoietin) in the mid 1990s, but claims he was done with drugs by the time of his 1999 comeback.
When asked whether he was afraid of getting caught, if lying ever made him feel wrong or like he was cheating, Lance answered ‘no’ to all three questions.
