Simon Cowell has joined forces with New York producer Vivek J. Tiwary to co-produce ‘The Fifth Beatle’, about the life of Beatles manager Brian Epstein.
Tiwary, whose successes include the Broadway production of Green Day’s ‘American Idiot’ and ‘The Addams Family’, has described his work on the Epstein movie as a “labor of love”.
“I’ve been researching and developing The Fifth Beatle for more than half my life– it’s a true labor of love,” he said. “And I’m confident that the next stage in telling Brian Epstein’s story is in extremely capable hands with Bruce, whose sensibilities and talents are simply perfect for The Fifth Beatle. You could say I’m a Bruce Cohen fan– so I’m elated to see The Fifth Beatle coming to life as a film under his guidance!”
“I have always been fascinated by Brian Epstein and his story,” Cowell said in a statement to The Examiner. “He played a huge role in The Beatles incredible success and, I believe, remains the most talented manager ever. Yet his story has never been fully told. Also, like everyone across the world, I have so much respect for The Beatles and their music. So to be given the chance to be involved in this project was one I just could not pass up.”
‘The Fifth Beatle’ is based on the novel co-written by Tiwary. The book was a number one best seller of the New York Times list.
